BBUA-ADCP Doppler Current Measurement Transducers

BBUA-ADCP Doppler current transducer with a circular metal rim, black acoustic working face and top cable

Doppler current measurement for underwater monitoring

The BBUA-ADCP series covers 500 kHz, 1 MHz, 2 MHz and 3 MHz configurations for river and ocean current profiling, channel velocity measurement, hydrological monitoring and underwater flow-field research. Each frequency has its own beam angle, electrical matching, temperature range, pressure rating and housing construction.

Frequency Confirmed characteristic
1 MHz Reference range 0.05 to 3 m; bandwidth ±20% at -3 dB
2 MHz Reference range 0.03 to 2 m

Applications and selection

  • River and ocean current profiling
  • Channel velocity measurement
  • Hydrological monitoring
  • Underwater flow-field research

Frequency, beam angle, acoustic path, electrical matching, temperature, pressure and housing construction should be selected as one compatible configuration for the required depth, velocity range and spatial resolution.
