200 kHz gas flow measurement with two beam configurations

The BBFM-Q200K-B is an ultrasonic gas flow measurement transducer for industrial gas flow meters, gas meters, gas velocity measurement and transit-time gas measurement modules. Its center frequency is specified as 200 kHz ±5%.

The reference range is 0.10 to 1.5 m. The source lists two configurations at the same center frequency: a 6° ±10% half-power beam angle with M18 × 1.5 thread, and an 11.8° ±10% beam option whose mounting is defined by the dimensional drawing.

Selection and electrical integration

Choose the beam and mounting configuration against the required acoustic path, gas medium, target condition and available interface. The measuring path should remain within the 0.10 to 1.5 m reference range.

The transmit and receive electronics should be matched to a minimum impedance of 900 Ω ±20% and capacitance of 600 pF ±20% at 1 kHz. Peak voltage must stay below 450 Vpp. Confirm operation within -40 to +80°C, 3 kgf or 0.3 MPa, and the stated IP68 protection rating.
