Eight-metre ranging with a 21-degree acoustic field
The BBDM-34KR8M is an air-coupled ultrasonic transducer with a 34 kHz center frequency and a recommended measuring range of 0.5 to 8 m. Its specified -3 dB half-power angle is 21 degrees, a key value when determining which surfaces or structures can contribute echoes within the measurement zone.
The listed uses cover tank and vessel level measurement, distance measurement on industrial equipment, collision avoidance for vehicles and machinery, and security or area monitoring.
Electrical, acoustic and environmental specifications

| Recommended range | 0.5-8 m |
| Minimum impedance | 3,400 ohm +/-20% |
| Capacitance | 1,700 pF +/-20% at 1 kHz |
| Operating voltage | Peak voltage below 1,500 Vpp |
| Operating temperature | -40 to +80 degrees C |

Acoustic path and target response
The lower end of the recommended range is 0.5 m. Tank necks, internal fittings, guards and nearby machine parts within the acoustic path can generate echoes. A small, angled or irregular surface can return a different echo from a broad, perpendicular target.
Electrical interface
The electrical interface data includes a minimum impedance of 3,400 ohm, capacitance of 1,700 pF at 1 kHz and a peak-voltage limit below 1,500 Vpp.
