Compact 100 kHz transducer for short-range detection
The BBDM-100KR2M is an air-coupled ultrasonic transducer designed for short-range distance and presence sensing. It combines a 100 kHz center frequency with a reference range of 0.12 to 2 m for proximity detection, short-range positioning, object counting and compact level measurement.
Its specified -3 dB half-power angle is 11.7 degrees +/-10%. The rubber-housed, IP68 configuration weighs 22 g +/-5% with a 25 cm cable, making its installation characteristics distinct from larger threaded or long-cable transducer assemblies.

Where this configuration fits
- Proximity detection in automation equipment
- Short-range positioning
- Counting and target detection
- Compact level measurement
Beam angle helps evaluate target coverage, but it does not define the usable range by itself. Target size, orientation and reflectivity, air conditions, mounting geometry and the drive and receive electronics must be considered together.
Integration checks
Confirm the required distance, target surface, operating temperature, pressure, available mounting space and protection needs before selecting the BBDM-100KR2M. The 25 cm cable and connection method should be checked against the equipment layout, while the excitation and receive circuitry should remain within the specified electrical limits.
