BBMU-BD-A Non-Invasive Ultrasonic Air Bubble Sensor

BBMU-BD-A non-invasive ultrasonic air bubble sensor with tubing in the sensing channel

Product Overview

The BBMU-BD-A provides non-invasive detection of air and bubbles in liquid-filled tubing. Mounted outside the fluid path, it continuously distinguishes liquid from air without contacting the medium or modifying the flow path. A digital logic signal communicates the detected condition to the host equipment.

The sensor is designed for infusion pumps, syringe pumps, hemodialysis systems, blood-processing equipment, biotechnology instruments, chemical analyzers, food-processing equipment, and other fluid-handling systems. Configurations are available for different tube materials, outside diameters, output levels, and self-test requirements.

Key Features

  • Non-invasive ultrasonic detection with no liquid contact
  • No acoustic coupling agent required
  • Detection of bubbles, air, and empty-tube conditions
  • Typical response time of approximately 0.22 ms
  • Minimum detectable bubble approximately 70% of tube inner diameter
  • Multiple tube-size, supply-voltage, and output configurations
  • Optional power-on and continuous self-test functions
  • High immunity to EMI and RFI
