Medium-range detection with broader horizontal coverage
The BBDM-29KR6M is an air-coupled ultrasonic distance transducer with a 29 kHz center frequency and a reference range of 0.5 to 6 m. It can be evaluated for tank and vessel level measurement, industrial equipment ranging, vehicle and machinery collision avoidance, security systems and area monitoring.
The specified -3 dB half-power angle is 18.5 degrees +/-10%. This broader field increases the area exposed to ultrasound, while structures and surfaces within the field may return unwanted echoes.

Coverage and near-distance behavior
The lower limit of the reference range is 0.5 m. Across the 6 m span, vessel walls, protective guards and machine frames within the expanding acoustic field can generate echoes. A broad field supports area coverage, while a smaller or angled target may return less energy to the receiver.
Electrical interface
The electrical interface data includes a 2,800-ohm minimum impedance, 1,900 pF capacitance at 1 kHz and a peak-voltage limit below 1,500 Vpp.
