Long-range measurement with bottom-thread installation
The BBDM-17KR50M is an air-coupled ultrasonic distance transducer with a 17 kHz center frequency and a reference range of 1.8 to 50 m. It is intended for large-tank level monitoring, industrial distance measurement, collision avoidance, area monitoring and long-range target detection.
This version uses an M108 x 2 bottom mounting thread. Its installation interface distinguishes it from long-range models that provide a separate top suspension thread, so the receiving structure should be designed around the actual dimensional drawing.

Echo path at extended range
The 13-degree half-power angle helps define the main acoustic field, but it does not guarantee target return at 50 m. The target must present sufficient area and acoustic reflectivity within the beam. Tank walls, internal bracing, dust, temperature gradients and mounting tilt can introduce competing echoes or reduce the received signal.
Mechanical and electrical checks
The supporting structure must accommodate the M108 x 2 interface and the 1.97 kg transducer mass. Confirm the mounting orientation, available clearance, operating pressure and temperature, cable connection and required measurement path. The excitation and receiver design must be matched to the 1,500-ohm minimum impedance, 12,000 pF capacitance and peak-voltage limit.
