Thirteen-metre reference range with an 8.9-degree beam
The BBDM-35KR13M is an air-coupled ultrasonic distance transducer operating at a 35 kHz center frequency. Its stated reference range begins at 0.45 m and extends to 13 m, while the specified -3 dB half-power angle is 8.9 degrees +/-10%.
These values support initial selection for tank or vessel level measurement, industrial equipment ranging, collision avoidance on vehicles and machinery, and security or area monitoring. They do not replace an installation test with the intended target and electronics.

Check the complete echo path
A level-measurement installation should keep the sound path clear from the 0.45 m near end through the maximum intended level distance. Tank necks, vessel internals and nearby fittings need to be considered against the 8.9-degree half-power angle. The reflecting surface must also be large and suitably oriented for the selected geometry.
For ranging or collision avoidance on moving equipment, evaluate the target throughout its expected travel. Security and area-monitoring arrangements likewise need practical checks for the target surface and the structures surrounding the measurement zone.
Coordinate electrical and mechanical integration
The front-end circuit must accommodate a minimum impedance of 400 ohm and a capacitance of 6,500 pF at 1 kHz. Applied peak voltage must remain below 1,000 Vpp. The specified weight of 835 g +/-5% includes a 2 m cable, so both the transducer support and cable routing should be included in the mounting plan.
Confirm that the operating medium, temperature and pressure fall within the -40 to +80 degrees C range and the maximum of 10 kgf or 1 MPa. The product is specified with IP68 protection.
