BBUEM-DP Fixed Dual-Path Ultrasonic Heating and Cooling Energy Meter

BBUEM-DP fixed dual-path ultrasonic heating and cooling energy meter

Product Overview

BBUEM-DP is a fixed dual-path ultrasonic heating and cooling energy meter for large chilled-water, hot-water, and thermal-energy systems. It combines dual-path ultrasonic flow measurement with paired temperature measurement to calculate heating or cooling energy from liquid flow and supply/return temperature difference.

The dual-path arrangement is intended to provide improved flow-measurement stability, while clamp-on flow and temperature sensors allow standard installations to be completed without cutting the pipe. Wetted flow and temperature sensors are also available as optional configurations.

Key Features

  • Dual-path ultrasonic flow measurement
  • Heating and cooling energy calculation
  • ±0.5% flow accuracy
  • ±1.0% heating/cooling energy accuracy
  • Pipe-size range from 25 to 5000 mm
  • Matched temperature sensors with 0.02 °C matching error
  • 4–20 mA, pulse/OCT, and relay outputs
  • RS485 communication with Modbus protocol
  • Clamp-on sensors as standard; wetted sensors optional

Typical Applications

  • Central chilled-water plants
  • Large-building HVAC energy monitoring
  • District heating and cooling networks
  • Industrial cooling-water and heat-exchange systems
  • Plant utility and energy-management systems
  • Large-pipe thermal-energy metering

Measurement Principle

Two ultrasonic paths measure the flow in the same pipeline. Thermal energy is then calculated from the measured flow rate and the temperature difference between the supply and return sides of the system.
