Product Overview
The wear resistant straight beam contact transducer is an ultrasonic NDT probe series for manual contact inspection of metal parts with simple geometry. It is used as a front-end ultrasonic component with compatible flaw detection equipment, not as a complete inspection instrument.
This straight beam contact transducer uses a permanent abrasion-resistant wear plate for contact inspection. Typical applications include manual inspection of plates, large forgings, billets, castings, pipes, tubes, tanks, bars, and small forgings. It can also be used for lamination, delamination, bond testing, thick sections, and materials that are difficult to penetrate.
Key Features
- Straight beam contact transducer structure for ultrasonic NDT inspection.
- Permanent abrasion-resistant wear plate for direct contact with metal parts.
- Suited to general-purpose inspection of metal parts with simple geometry.
- Smaller model options are available for pipe, tube, tanks, bars, and small forgings.
- Fingertip model options are available for access to tight spaces.
- Connector options include Lemo 00, Microdot, BNC, and LEMO-1 depending on model family.
- Side mount and top mount connector versions are available depending on model type.
- Custom configurations are available on request.
Applications
This wear resistant straight beam contact transducer is suitable for ultrasonic NDT inspection of metal parts where a direct contact probe is required. Confirmed inspection targets include plates, large forgings, billets, castings, pipes, tubes, tanks, bars, and small forgings.
The product series can also support lamination, delamination, bond testing, inspection of thick sections, and inspection of materials that are difficult to penetrate. For tight spaces, fingertip contact transducer configurations may be selected.
